Love Your Box Of Chocolates? Make A Jewelry Box When The Chocolates Are Gone

Chocolate is one of those delicate treasures in life that many love to receive as a gift. When the chocolate is gone, you might just throw the box away. But if you're someone who loves to repurpose items, you can make a beautiful jewelry box with it instead. This guide provides the steps needed to transform a chocolate box into the perfect organizing container for your earrings, rings or other small jewelry items.

Step 1: Collect Your Materials

There are many methods to use to create a beautiful jewelry box with an empty chocolate box. Collect the following items to create a box with your favorite photos:

  • damp paper towel
  • two printed photos
  • copy paper
  • wrapping paper
  • a tape measure (the kind used for sewing)
  • scissors
  • glue

Step 2: Clean the Box

Take the chocolate holder/s out of the box. Wipe out the box and the holder/s with the damp paper towel. Look inside the holder/s and box for any remaining chocolate crumbs and remove them as well.

Step 3: Attach the Copy Paper

Measure the lid of the box and cut the copy paper to size. Do the same on the inside bottom of the box. Place a small amount of glue on the copy paper and attach it to the inside and outside of the lid. Then do the same on the bottom of the inside of the box.

Step 4: Attach the Photos

Use the lid measurements to cut the photos to the same size as the lid. Glue one photo to the outside of the lid, and then glue the other photo to the inside of the lid.

Step 5: Attach the Wrapping Paper

Cut a piece of wrapping paper to the same size of the inside bottom of the box and glue it on top of the copy paper.

Measure the sides on the inside and outside of the box, and then cut enough paper to cover them. Then glue the paper onto the areas, making creases along the corners so you don't have loose paper in those areas. Pull the paper tight when gluing to prevent future rips from loose paper. Repeat this until the entire box is covered so that all you see is the wrapping paper and photos.

Step 6: Insert the Candy Holders

Place the candy holder/s back in the box and organize the jewelry in a fashion that's easy for you to quickly grab what you need.

Wrap the entire box with wrapping paper if you don't want to use photos. Additionally, you can use this method to cover the entire box with photos instead of wrapping paper to create a collage. Make these jewelry boxes for women in your life.
